BOAGS' GALLANTRY IS BACK VIA AJF PARTNERSHIP, MELBOURNE

J. Boag and Son is building upon the momentum of their ‘Gallantry’ campaign with the latest instalment created by AJF Partnership, Melbourne and directed by Tim Bullock of Prodigy Films.
The spot features a young man who meets an attractive woman on a plane who is clearly out of his league. The character defines gallantry by going to the extreme of giving up five years of his life to study aeronautical engineering just so that he can offer the woman a view out the front window of the plane rather than just the side window.
Says Tim Bullock of Prodigy Films: “It was just the sort of commercial I was itching to work on… a campaign with a bit of scale and scope for fun production design. We drew upon influences as broad as Get Smart, James Bond, Wes Anderson and Spies Like Us."

Nice job guys.

Certainly different. Relevant to the brand. Interesting tone of voice. (Mildly) amusing. Taught me something (Name:St George). Don't personally love it, but yes, I think it counts as a good un.

Good work guys!

Why on earth would Tim go back to Saatchis where he was a meek and mild account man whose extraordinary talents as a film maker, rock god and funny-as-fuck writer (see the Bigphallica.com website, particularly the backstage rider) were unrecognised, unrewarded, unappreciated and unfulfilled.

A beer ad. Good looking girl. Average guy gets girl. Bung in a bit of lynx effect and a bit of FHM and SURPRISE SURPRISE every little boy who plays campaign blog loves it!Good ad though, made this jean wearing over aged adman convinced he could pull his p.a, if only he drank some of that cool bottled beer like them creatives do.

And anyone who worked with him while he was there can tell you he was no Clark Kent.He was recognised, he was rewarded and he was appreciated. Fulfillment, on the other hand, I'm sure he's getting more of now ... but who the hell would want to be a suit anyway?

um, have to step in here. it is true - saatchi was very supportive and they helped with all my shorts. they even gave me my first professional directing gig (for toyota) while i was still a suit. but thanks for the bigphallica plug!

Tim's far too self-effacing to publicise this himself, but be sure to also keep an eye out for his work as director of one of the "Two Twisted" tales on air 9:30pm Monday 11 September, Nine Network.Onya Tim!

Did you say it's screening on September 11, Luke?I wonder if the storyline will have anyting to do with crazed Saudis crashing hijacked planes (full of snakes, to refresh the story) into the WTC in NYC.I LIKE it!
