SUDEEP GOHIL TO JOIN DROGA 5, BRAM WILLIAMS PROMOTED AT SAATCHI & SAATCHI

Bram Williams, currently Saatchi & Saatchi’s Head of Strategy on Toyota for the past 18 months, will replace Sudeep Gohil (left) as Head of Strategy, following the latter's decision to join former Saatchi ECD David Nobay at Droga 5 at the end of the year.
It is believed that Gohil and Nobay will work on international projects for Droga 5 as well as set up a Droga 5 operation in Sydney.
“We didn’t have to look far for the obvious successor to Sudeep," said Saatchi CEO, Simone Bartley. “Bram has an impressive background, and was The Strategic Planning Director for Euro RSCG before joining us at Saatchi & Saatchi. He already has responsibility for a substantial portion of our business in his current role.
“We have a very deep pool of talent at Saatchi and it is this which has made us the No.1 creative agency in the Asia Pacific."
Said Williams (below): “This is an incredible opportunity. I’m really looking forward to heading up a great team and turning out some excellent work."
Other key appointments to the Saatchi creative line-up, including Nobay's replacement, will be announced shortly.

Err, when was the news about Nobby announced?

Did they really need to anounce it? Wake up 2:33! Interesting to know how will Saatchi fare after the Nobster era. That P.R announcement from Simone about "the deep pool of talent" sounds a tad defensive. Time will tell....

All I would ask is that when the next round of appointments are made that the press releases are just a touch more restrained. To me, it's quite embarrassing when an agency talks up a new appointment as the messiah and they're out the door for one reason or another four months later.

More toss about people in Sydney doing Sydney things all the Sydney time. All the people who actually come from Sydney are overseas doing minor things. And all the overseas people who are in Sydney are doing minor things. So why is this news? Those two chicks who got the bullet a few weeks back? If they were from Perth...who cares? No they were from ...ummm....Sydney. Sydney Sydney Sydney. All the best people in Sydney are from Melbourne. Everybody knows that.

I've lived in Sydney for 8 years and I still haven't been to a suburb called Melbourne.
