$30m REYNOLDS TAKES A BREAK

Siimon Reynolds, one of the founders of the Photon Group, has resigned as a director of the holding company which now comprises ad agencies BWM, BMF and his own agency, Love Communications. Reynolds told CB he will take a well earned break and will continue as strategic creative advisor of Love but leave the day to day running of the agency to his management team.
Reynolds, who started a creative revolution in Australia when he formed Omon 20 years ago (on the day of the 87 crash!), which in turn launched the spectacular career of Dave Droga, now has over $30 million worth of Photon shares – which he says he is not selling at the present time.

It doesn’t say much for all of us when the only guys who know how to make real money out of this industry – Singo, Siimon Reynolds -are ditching it like an over-cooked dinner.
He might be quitting advertising, but he certainly doesn’t seem to be quitting advertising himself.

I love how now that the Grim Reaper ad is getting a little long in the tooth, his main claim to fame is launching Droga’s career.

C’mon, let’s all take a deep breath and admit it. Siimon is one of the smartest businessmen in the country.

Don’t forget the business deals by Brown, melhuish, cummins, belgo and the like.Sahres aren’t money til he sells. Lets just hope they keep their value. I like Siimon, Warren Sean and Rob. They are on another level, sure. But anyone can make that level. just stop whingeing and go do it!
