BANNERBLOG: GOODBY'S COMM BANK COMMERCIAL ON YOUTUBE IS FOR REAL
Bannerblog says 'Determined to Be Different' is registered trademark #1211855 of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, lodged by CBA's General Counsel John O'Sullivan on November 23, 2007. Also, Bannerblog believes there will also be a website that will reside at http://www.determinedtobedifferent.com.au/

That proves that the line's registered - not that the spot is for real.
I smell a trade hoax. Surely.
I, for one, welcome our new koala overlords.
'Determined to Be Different' - That's strange, if you go to the Determined to Be Different website and play their cricket game...they continually use the term Pom.
Now thats not different...thats jumping on the recent racist name calling band wagon.
What next? A Commonwealth Bank TVC with Andrew Symonds as a Monkey!
rather than claiming different ,why not try being different, offering us something better than other banks...
11:11 is 100% spot on.
When interest rates go up today - we will see how "Determined to be Different" the CBA really is or whether this new tagline is just like the commercial - self serving with more to do about themselves than the customers they serve.
The bank needs a serious reality check - it's not an entertainment brand it can't run entertainment advertisements like Carlton's the "Big Ad" because nobody trusts them and aligns with them.
Why does Australia's largest bank need to re-enforce it's brand position. Don't we know who they are already. What do they do that's what I want to know.
Mark Buckman, marketing general manager at the Commonwealth Bank and the man who took the decision to take the account out of Australia conceded there was no time to pre-test the TVC before it launched (WOW doesn't it show)
Just to be clear of all the banks in Australia I have always had a positive feeling towards the CBA holding all my accounst with them. This advertisement doesn't enhance them it hurts them.
