Bambach’s infectious positivity shines throughout the interview, as she shares her thoughts on the ad industry’s potential to lead change through creativity.

Says Bambach: “I have this real passion that creativity is the human force in order to create change in the world – we’ve got the ability to set a view of the future and maybe make a positive difference.”

Bambach also talks about her involvement in the Great British Diversity Experiment and its conclusions around the type of leadership that fosters success. She said the experiment, based around a live Tesco brief, showed allowing ‘the messiness of diverse thinking’ opened up enormous possibilities in fostering great work. She acknowledged this more playful approach to work presented its own challenges: “Things can be intangible before they become tangible. Some people find that curve uncomfortable, but I quite like it.”

For Paul Dunne, host of The Creative Relay, the conversation is a fascinating insight into what has driven these two trailblazing creative minds and the similarities of their experiences forging successful careers overseas: “It’s inspiring what these two have achieved. And I loved hearing their approach to encouraging new ways of working for agencies and their clients.”

Dan Higson from Smith & Western believes the latest episode has come at just the right time, with much of the country currently in lockdown: “Like Justine says, Laura is an amazing source of energy and positivity, which is kind of what many of us need right now!”
