FAUDET RESIGNS FROM DDB MELBOURNE

MICHAEL-FAUDET.jpgDDB Melbourne today announced the resignation of executive creative director Michael Faudet, who has spent the last three years in Melbourne and sixteen years prior at DDB Auckland and DDB Sydney.
DDB Group Managing Director Andrew Little praised Michael’s contribution to the agency: “Michael has made a significant contribution to the creative product and the exceptional growth of the agency. We have been in discussion for a while about Michael’s next steps and he has decided to take some time out after a long and fruitful career with DDB across the Tasman. I and all the staff wish him the best in his future endeavours."
Says Faudet: “I decided it was time to take a well overdue break from the business and spend more time with my son in New Zealand. I plan to catch some fish over the next few months before pursuing new options. I wish Andrew and the team all the best."
CB hears Faudet's high profile replacement will be announced this afternoon. So stand by.

Good luck Michael,God only knows the politics that you have had to endure......its their loss,i know for a fact that alot of your clients will seriously miss you and that the DDB spin doctors will be working overtime.

Another creative departs Melbourne and, sadly, more NZ fish must die.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Michael for over 10 years,he's a top bloke and a top talent and i'm sure the creatives at DDB Melbourne will sorely miss him. He virtually single handedly turned around the Melbourne office and whats more did it on a shoe string budget.
Whilst DDB won Victorian Agency of the Year in 2008,its worth remembering they also did it last year as well, unlike DDB Sydney.......so credit where credit is due, good on you Michael, you don't need me to wish you good luck, you 'll always make your own. Garry.

Good luck Michael. Your son's gain is Australia's loss.

You are the best Velvet.
Pointing a double-barrel shotgun at a lake does not = fishing.

Michael’s been the guy other agencies wished they had on their team - to pull in so many wins and awards! I wonder if the agency will ever recover from this loss? Good luck to the poor sod that has to fill those big shoes...
Well, at least we can expect creativity in NZ to pick up dramatically... like raindrops on a desert.

DDB... why don't you tell it like it is rather than spinning this shit? The ad industry knows the person behind this decision...

I had the pleasure working with Michael at DDB Sydney. He's an absolute top bloke and a real character. He has the tremendous ability to be a creatives creative while forging strong client relationships. I loved working with Michael as did most of DDB's Sydney staffers and the clients who were fortunate enough to have him on their business. The industry needs more like him.

Best of luck Michael and good on ya for taking time with the young fella.

Gazza great to see you putting your 2 pence worth in support of your old mate :)

All these positive comments are deeply inappropriate for a blog that prides itself on the backbiting, vitriolic, illiterate rantings of its usual contributors.

Its such a shame to see such great talent who has just won agency of the year for victoria suddenly just leave. It's also amazing to see that the replacement was already right there. Which only leads me to think that there was so much more to this than was said.

Its a real shame to see great talent going offshore, just so that others can get more power and money/bonuses! I would have loved to work with Micheal, only met him on a shoot and was just an amazing and charasmatic person. Something that I see management from DDB lack. Maybe they should take a very hard look at themselves as the industry is now judging them for what you have done. What goes around will come around.

Why not say it like it is. This kind of bullshitstarts at the top. So you don't have to look far to see where the shot was fired from. Sydney. Someone's been after Michael's head from the day he arrived from NZ and he got it. A hit for a mafia feud from the old days. The network that talks about humanity should just be honest and call themselvespricks. That's they are. Michael did well hanging in there for as long as he did. You're smarter than those dumb arses any day Michael.
