ADPARTNERS BURNS BEDS FOR TED

capture.fire.jpgWrithing snakes, beds of nails, sheets on fire all play a role in a dramatic new commercial created by Adpartners for Ted Noffs Foundation. They represent the torture a child goes through when recovering from serious drug and alcohol addiction.
“It’s based on real life symptoms experienced by someone withdrawing from substance abuse," says Janet Evans, Adpartners Group Head. “We want people to experience how hard it is for these children, some as young as fourteen. The communications symbolise the stringent process Ted Noffs uses in their three months residential program in order to get kids clean."
The pro-bono campaign will hit cinema screens, press and online from mid-May.
“Ted Noffs Foundation does amazing work and money raised as a result of the campaign will buy more beds in more residences to give more kids a new chance in life."

'Director Was Here'.

This could have been a really good spot. Unfortunately the director got carried away.
Multiple cuts and softened pictures puts it back in the late 90's. It's basic stuff - a single shot of a burning bed would have been adequate - and in focus.

Sound design is excellent. Disagree with above, actually best charity spot I've seen in ages, the quick cuts and sound design actually made me engage. Good work.

This demonstrates the downside of getting a director and production company to shoot your charity spot for free. You quite often have to humour the director and subsequently end up with an over-directed spot.

I hope you're not a director 1:03

most directors are lower than lawyers

@1:52 i'm a composer - the sound design on it is good.

I hope you're not a Director either 11.10

1:32 - You are a bitter muppet.

If this is an "over-directed" spot - give me over directed! Well done Adpartners.

1:32 And the upside is creatives win heaps of awards and production people work for free whilst you get paid a salary selfish MF!

Swing and a miss.

Would prefer something under directed with an actual idea.

Give kids a real chance- make a decent charity ad. Wasted opportunity.

I've worked on my fair share of charity ads, and it can only be a positive thing to see a worthy charity like Ted Noffs get a talked about ad and some attention.

I think this ad is really strong. I get the idea about the bed as a symbol of getting clean. Good work adpartners.

Wow this is great, not sure what all the bitchyness is about?

Saw it the the cinema too. I can see that there has been a lot of thought in the symbols used and no doubt a gret deal of work in the execution of the directors vision, it has got to be very hard to get such a complex matter across in 30 seconds and i appreciate adpartners effort, they did a seriously professional job when others take the road more travelled. I hope it works for the charity and the guys that worked on it. Well done.

I saw this ad in a full cinema and 500 people stopped talking and watched every second of it. That said a lot for me. Well done.
