Is this the first year AWARD is charging finalists an extra $130 to be included in the annual?

If we pay the extra $130 upfront does that mean we can order our pencil earlier?

Well, after the chairman of judges of Adfest declared that he'd never, ever, seen as many scam entries as he did this year, I wonder just how many'll get into Award?

And just while we're at it. Can we start to eradicate obvious plagiarism? I particularly enjoyed seeing a new Tooheys poster on the bus today that read: 'TOOHEYS 1. EINSTEIN 0.'

Surely, surely not influenced by arguably one of the greatest Nike posters of all time, 'MICHAEL JORDAN 1. GRAVITY 0.'

Naaaaah. They'd never copy that.

Let me get this right, first you pays your money to have your work judged by the usual coterie. Then should your efforts be deemed worthy you'll be asked to contribute further for the honour of inclusion in the good book? Surely some mistake???

Just like Euro didn't rip this off with the radio spot they just posted on Best Ads.

Spare a thought for the receptionists and creative co-ordinators doing this rubbish. Spending what amounts to a fortune to build egos. Wishing it was just given to them as a pay rise.

No other award show have finalist fees, why does AWARD?

No doubt AWARD will tell us that finalist fees exist in order to have the Annual produced (somewhere in Asia which is why it takes so bloody long to come out). However, is this not why we pay membership fees, AWARD entry fees, and for tickets to the AWARD presentation evening? Looks alot like double dipping AWARD.

Pay extra to have a mention in a book? That is nonsense. Complete BS.

these things used to be called 'hanging fees' and have thankfully become a thing of the past: complete rort.

Unti now, that is.

thanks AWARD.
