Justin McMillan joins Film Construction
Along with his background as a successful documentary filmmaker, Justin continues to build an impressive body of commercial work, including spots for clients such as Hubba Bubba, Glad, Jeep and WA Road safety. Driven by a passion for all facets of film production, Justin explains that it is "the planning and logistics part of production" that inspires him most. "Dissecting and storyboarding an ad for the first time is a lot of fun as that's when you get the vision and can really see how it's all going to come together. Then making that vision come alive on screen is the ultimate payoff"
Joined by his producer, Kate Ayrton, a veteran of US institutions such
as MJZ, @radical.media, TBWA Chiat/Day and Deustch, Justin is clear
about one thing when it comes to commercial film making, "it is about
recognizing what is needed to make a great piece of communication,
while staying true to the single most important promise in the script.
Joining Film Construction was a natural progression for me as a
commercial film maker because I was ready to take my career to the next
level and I really value the experience, expertise, and kudos that they
have gained over many years of being in the game."
Justin's focus on performance supported by strong visuals was what first grabbed the attention of Film Construction General Manager, Mike Watkins: "We had been impressed with Justin's past portfolio of work and had him on our radar. Not only is he a great director he is also a bloody great guy, so we are thrilled to have him onboard with Film Construction."
