So simple. So fresh.

So you tell me to "check out the new animated spot for Sakata" and like a dickhead I figure because it's Campaign Brief telling me to check it out, it must be halfway decent.

Well it's not, and I want that 30 seconds (plus the time it took to load) back. If you can't invent time travel, then just send me $3.45 to pay me for my time.

Seriously. What the fuck is this blog coming to when you put mediocre work like this up? Don't fucking tell us to check something out when it's patently not worth checking out.

Shouldn't campaignbrief.com at least, in some small way, have the same standards as the magazine?

Yeah, I get really shitty work with grandiose press releases from time to time: good for a laugh.

But fuck me guys, have some standards huh? This ad is neither bad enough to mock, or anywhere near good enough to praise. So why the hell post it?

Shit I'm grumpy today. Over and out.

Terrible.....really terrible.....no idea and average animation.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same as above. Why'd you waste our time? Why'd you waste yours?

on a brighter note, has anyone seen that new film festival thing with the astronauts?

Anonymous said:

Yes spaceman. I saw it. I'm interested to hear how you rate it up against ever other film festival ad that's ever been made? I reckon I've seen about 37 of them and this one doesn't make the top 50.

You were totally sobbing as you typed that out, weren't you? Because nasty old CampaignBrief stole 30 seconds of time that you could have spent complaining about more important things, like your keyboard keys clacking too much or that noisy bee outside your window?

There, there.

There, there.

Jeez old Yukfoo animation are really rocking the boat with their irreverent name and cutting edge animation - classic guys, totally classic.

This feels very Coca Cola to me.

It's always hard to deliver a story with no dialogue and I think 303 and Yukfoo deserve real credit for meeting that challenge.
I've just posted up the storyboards that Chris did for the campaign which we're very proud of.

Pro's and con's of the Blog...
Pro: Good chance to showcase good, creative and interesting work, BUT it must be really good!
Con: Many bitter wankers waiting to slag you off!

Yukfoo are not a bad company but this is not a highlight!

this isnt ground breaking, but its very solid and a good view.

has an "opening titles" of a film look.

the transitions are lovely, the characters are very well animated.

reminds me of some of the old stuff the Film Graphics animation department used to do, which is very nostalgic for me.

nice animation, wouldn't be putting it up here if I was the agency though. solid but nothing spesh

Anonymous said:

What idea? Its an extremely ordinary piece of of animation with a rubbish visual narrative. Guys, if you don't want your work reviewed, don't post it on here.....work of this poor a standard doesn't stand a chance.
