BMF appoints Aaron Michie to Board position

Aaron Michie BMF.jpgBMF has appointed digital planning director Aaron Michie to the BMF Board, the first addition to the Board for five years since executive planning director Jeremy Nicholas and direct creative director Dylan Taylor joined in 2004.
 
Michie joined BMF in 2007 and has been instrumental in the development of digital work at the heart of the BMF business.
Says BMF CEO Matthew Melhuish: "Aaron is recognized as a leader in his field and is a terrific guy to boot. Bringing Aaron onto the Board will help ensure we 'future proof' the direction of the business and ensure our converged approach goes from strength to strength. We will be restructuring our digital team beneath Aaron and further integrating the specialist skills across the agency."
 
Says Michie: "I'm delighted to be joining the BMF Board; the agency's approach means
there are no battles between old and new agency models, and I guess my appointment symbolizes this. And becoming part of Australia's longest standing agency leadership team is a brilliant opportunity for me."
 
Additional imminent new digital hires at BMF include a tech director, social media manager and digital project managers.

Michie began his career in creative roles in Germany and Spain (as CD) where he worked on
multinational brands including SEAT, Sony Ericsson, Deutsche Telekom and Audi before becoming strategic director at Tribal DDB Sydney where he created digital strategy for household names including McDonald's, Gatorade, VW, and Nike. Since joining BMF in 2007, Michie has worked across BMF's portfolio of clients, including Commonwealth Bank, Schweppes and Lion Nathan.

Great stuff Aaron. Hopefully one day there won't need to be the word digital used as a qualifier for people's titles, but at least we are getting closer.
