Supersonic to close shop December 24, the directors to launch independently in 2010
For 15 years Supersonic has been synonymous with innovative music and adventurous sound design in the film, television and advertising sectors. From humble beginnings, the company has achieved a substantial presence in Australia and around the globe. Supersonic has hundreds of TVCs to its credit and has successfully established significant profiles for its three founding directors across a range of music composition styles for stage and screen.
While the doors at Supersonic close on an era of style, fun and
success, its establishing directors will pursue their own escalating
career trajectories:
Paul Healy will be launching a new music and sound design studio called Room Service Records. Opening in January 2010 and located in Camperdown it will also offer niche music licensing. Collaborating with Paul on TVCs for world class sound editing will be multi-award winning UK Sound Designer Nigel Crowley. Paul will continue his musical work on the high profile TV series Packed to the Rafters as well as scoring an upcoming Channel 9 tele-movie Credence.
Antony Partos and Andrew Lancaster are joining forces with composers Jono Ma, David McCormack, Michael Lira, Matteo Zingales and engineer/sound designer Wes Chew to form a new innovative collective that will span the fields of TVC, film, television, albums and new media. Stay tuned for the launch early 2010.
Antony Partos will also follow up on his recent AFI award-winning streak with upcoming scores for feature films Animal Kingdom starring Guy Pearce and Accidents Happen whilst continuing his impressive TVC work.
Andrew Lancaster's debut feature Accidents Happen starring Geena Davis will be released in March and he will continue his combination of filmmaking and music production.
The Supersonic directors wish to thank their endless list of loyal supporters and friends over the many fabulous years and look forward to many more to come as they launch independently in 2010.
