Three to pitch for Coke's Goulburn Valley

CB hears Coke is asking non roster shops Host, Droga5 and Banjo - and possibly Three Drunk Monkeys - to pitch on their Goulburn Valley brand. It's all a bit hush hush and the pitch will be conducted in January and of course the big prize is a permanent place on the Coke creative roster, which is currently led by Ogilvy, supported by Smart, Naked and Tongue.

Can't be that hush, hush.

Hang on, everyone knows there's no such thing as a "permanent place" on anyone's creative roster, let alone Coke's.

A terrible client to work for. Hopefully one of these shops can move them towards some interesting work....

Coke should spend the money and effort making a better juice product.

All that glitters is not gold.

First crack in the ogilvy/coke relationship. It won't be the last. Things have changed!

What's the deal with Banjo - they new?

Terrible? My years on coke were awesome.

I wonder if this includes the fruit work being done by Badjar Ogilvy, through SPC Ardmona (owned by Coke) as well? The brand needs consistency and focus, rather than some of the tired and/or disparate work seen from the fruit juices, fruit and now milk(?!?) products within its range.

One might almost surmise that the brand lacks cohesion through too many cooks and not enough focus on what the brand should stand for, in order to dfifferentiate itself!

2.47, you sound like a planner in a Hawaiian shirt.

Nope - purely safari suits for me.

Lets hope Banjo can do something decidedly better than their appalling freeview work. At this point they are like a horribly deformed puppy that needs to be out down for it's own benefit.
