AIMIA: First ever People's Choice Award open for voting - award ceremony in Melbourne March 5

Picture 761.pngThe Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has today announced voting is open for the People's Choice category of the 16th Annual AIMIA Awards, to be presented in Melbourne on March 5.
Says Paul McCarthy, AIMIA Awards Judging Chair: "This year marks the first time the entire AIMIA membership base has had the opportunity to vote in the awards.  There are so many inspiring finalist entries, it will be interesting to see how our members vote in this exciting new category."

Voting is open to all AIMIA members, who will each receive a single vote. The most popular entry from the total pool of 122 finalist entries will define the winner of the People's Choice Award.

The winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony in Melbourne on Friday 5 March 2010. AIMIA members can vote for their favourite entry HERE. Voting will close at 5pm AEDT on Tuesday, 23 February 2010.

In another first for AIMIA, all guests at this year's awards will receive a Digital Goodie Bag.  Instead of the traditional gift bag, a microsite will be set up to host the giveaways and offers. Following the awards night, all attendees will receive a link to the interactive site which will allow them to choose their offers.

Opportunities still exist for companies to sponsor a category at the Awards and/or to contribute vouchers and giveaways to the goodie bag. To be part of this innovative opportunity, contact Cecilia Lindgren at AIMIA.

The Annual AIMIA Awards are the longest running and most prestigious Awards in Australia's Interactive Media Industry. Entries are judged by a panel of global industry experts, drawn from all facets of the interactive media industry. Known affectionately as "The Amys" by the industry, the AIMIA Awards showcase work undertaken by Australia's Interactive Media and Digital Content sectors across a broad range of categories.

Ad agencies make sure you don't vote. The problem will go away if we ignore it.
