Picture 1072.pngCampaign Brief can reveal that Russell Smyth, a former CD at The Campaign Palace, Sydney, has been hired by Ogilvy Sydney to take on what appears to be the highly demanding creative director gig on Telstra, after the departure of Yanni Pounartzis, who lasted only seven months in the role after joining in September last year.

While at The Palace, where he was CD since 2005 until late 2008, the highly talented Smyth also co-created the sitcom Chandon Pictures, which has aired in Australia and sold to a major US network.
