Why do you have to be under 30?
Because if you’re not you’ve probably already had your chance at fame in the industry, or you’ve done something before advertising like being a hotshot lawyer or a really good bong puller.
Phuket.
Is there anyone left in advertising over 30? If I have another twenty something
offer me their advice based on their experience, I will throw up! As a client and former agency person, the idustry has got rid of the talent who knew what they were doing and had business experience and replaced them with willing little robots who hope they know what they are doing.
So you have till the age of thirty to kick a goal or they get rid of you??!!! What a shallow industry it has become with no real career path at all.
Awesome prize. Wish I was 2 years younger!
Well Ian, if you’re happy to be called a Young Lotus maybe they’ll waive the age restriction for you.
Realistically, if you’re not on your way to making competitively creative work by 30 you’re probably not going to be taking a major part in any award shows. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all. There’s still plenty of work for people besides the rockstars.
I think that’s bollocks. Lots of really good people didn’t do their best work until they were over 30. It’s not that bloody old and it’s no wonder you do better work once you’re out of your 20’s – it’s called life experience people.

No one said you had to pick up a pencil at D&AD by age 30.
Why don’t you do it the same way YoungGuns do?

I’m under 30. It’s awesome! I know how to tweet and i can still touch my toes!

Ah yes, the under 30’s. They’re keeping this over 40 in a job.
“the final countdown” good idea bad execution for the target market. Europa were early eighties? And the target market are into Justin beiber anyways.
I’m very glad I’m just on the side Gen X.
