World’s largest cruise company Carnival Cruise Lines sails into The Furnace via Arnold global link

This is a collaboration between Arnold Worldwide and The Furnace, both part of the Havas network. Carnival Cruise Lines is one of Arnold’s key global clients.

The Australian cruise industry has seen significant growth in the past couple of years.  Now, in a major boost to the industry, Carnival Cruise Lines is bringing Carnival Spirit to Australia.  Carnival Spirit will be the most spacious cruise ship to call Australia home year-round  This is the first time Carnival has based a ship year-round outside of the United States.

The ship will arrive will sail into its new home in Sydney Harbour in October 2012 and The Furnace will be launching a fully integrated campaign beginning in January 2012.

Jennifer Vandekreeke, the newly installed Director of Carnival Cruise Lines in Australia, believes the Carnival Spirit will inject new life into the cruise industry with a product and launch campaign focused on Australians who are new to cruising.  She recently emigrated to Sydney having worked with Carnival Cruise Linesin Miami for a number of years.

Says Vanderkreeke: “The Carnival brand has an immense amount of energy behind it and we’re always looking for ways to be more fun in our brand voice, more ground breaking in our brand experience and really push the boundaries in how we bring the Carnival Cruise experience to life for Australians. The Furnace has already shown a great understanding of who we are, they’ve been instrumental in giving Carnival its ‘Aussie voice’ and they have some really engaging and unexpected ideas in the pipeline.  We’re all very excited about what the future holds.”

Tony Singleton added, “We’re delighted to welcome Carnival aboard (sorry!).  They are a fantastic brand that really has a clear understanding of what it’s about and it is clear that this will open up the delights of cruising to a whole new group of cruise rookies.”

To date, this caps an already successful year for The Furnace in new business.  As well as Carnival Cruise Lines the agency has also picked up Warner Bros, Atkins Nutritionals and Huawei Devices Australia.
