Bestads Top 6 of the Week – reviewed by Razvan Capanescu, CCO, Publicis Romania, Bucharest

I believe the truly striking execution this week is Cravendale ‘Milk Me Brian’, so this will be my pick for best TV. It’s that type of smile with your brain story regaled by a brilliant voice over.

For the runner up I’ve hesitated between Always ‘Crying’ – for its powerful thought and emotional twist – and Nokia N8 ‘Gulp’ – for its clever production values. Very different, I admit. But hence the difficult choice. I’ll choose the Nokia one though, for the virtue of walking the talk. Kind of putting… urrrr… the phone where their mouth is.

SPCA ‘Howick’ is my first choice, because it values the perennial art of print – the power to frame an idea in just one square of paper. Concise, direct, memorable.

The runner up is Navy Submarine Recruitment ‘Determination’. I’m a sucker for type done great.

I’ll pick New Zealand Police ‘Madie & Julia’ for the best outdoor this week. Because it uses stencils in a very good way and makes it a powerful urban demonstration of a point. OK, and for the Banksy flavor.

Second choice will be McDonald’s ‘Ice sculpture’ – it insinuates nicely in people’s lives since it seems to have transformed a walk in the park into something more fun and interactive.

My pick for best is The Axe Tower because it succeeds to bring people closer (even through virtual means) in a culture where a certain conservative etiquette is still the norm.

The clear runner up (almost on a par with the first choice) is Lego ‘Builder of Infinity’ thanks to its interactive appeal based on the legendary product usage. I’ve played on the website until I almost forgot the deadline.
