Ex Ogilvy Sydney team Kevin Phillips and Steve Street land CD roles at The Via Agency in the U.S.

Phillips (above right) previously was senior art director at Ogilvy, Sydney and art director at Clemenger BBDO, Sydney and Ogilvy Interactive, London. Street (above left), a senior creative/copywriter at Ogilvy, Sydney also worked at Ogilvy, Japan and BatesAsia/141 Worldwide.

At VIA, which last month won an Advertising Age Small Agency of the Year category, they’ll help expand the agency’s digital offering and work on Friendly’s, Samsung, NAB, DuPont and Unilever. The pair will report to Teddy Stoecklein, VIA’s group creative director.

With the addition of global clients Samsung and Unilever, VIA is recruiting globally to attract top-tier talent, said VIA’s chief creative officer Greg Smith: “We’re thrilled to expand VIA Agency’s creative offering by attracting global talent to Portland, Maine,” Smith said. “Kevin and Steve are passionate creatives that solve marketing problems with a global perspective. The pair also worked on the digital campaign “55 days of Christmas” for Telstra via Ogilvy Sydney. The campaign featured print, POS, outdoor and TV and the creation of an online advent calendar that gifted an item each day linked to a special Telstra offer.

Phillips and Street have also been honored by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) awards and the John Caples International Awards.
