Bonds dumps Palace for Clems Melbourne
Tanya Deans, marketing manager, Bonds told CB: "This does not mean the end of our relationship with The Palace. We enjoy a fantastic relationship with them and they continue to remain on the Pacific Brands roster. We've appointed Clems to work on the next Bonds project."
The latest Palace work for Bonds, released in early August, featured Australian actor Rachael Taylor.

Homer said Doh, Mr Burns said excellent and Nelson said haha.
Later, Palace.
RIP Palace
Well bugger me sideways, did anyone see that coming?
didn't singo, cough, banjo have a crack at it too?
yes it went non roster - Bango.
As long as they continue featuring attractive girls in their underwear, all will be just fine.
Is this for the next creative project.... or the whole business for the next 2 years??
No surprises here, Anthony Heraghty heads up Pacific Brands
That is really sad, the Bonds campaign has been the bench mark for fashion retail for the last 5 years plus.
Simple, colourful, fresh, always made you look and made you feel good.
Palace, you didn't deserve that.
KABOOM!
Why why why?
Great to see in the update that The Palace remains on the Pacific Brands roster. and that they are still highly regarded by Pac Brands. The Palace did not deserve to be cut, and will hopefully be asked to work on other projects in the near future.
Its never about the work, is it?
The moral fibre of some clients in this country leaves a lot to be desired.
Maybe agencies in general should stand up for themselves a little more. The constant "pitch gun" held against the head of agencies does the industry no favours at all.
Its merely a political game being played with a lot of people's lives. But perhaps this blog is not the place to raise such moral issues as it is generally quite morally bankrupt itself.
Get well soon Palace!
Re: 8:33pm "Its merely a political game being played with people's lives'
You have described the inner workings of the palace for the past 4 years.
More corporate karma.
OUCH!
I've heard that a previous Palace MD was asked to consult on this process bu PacBrands - seems rather strange behaviour from PacBrands if this was about awarding a project only - I think this business is gone and I will be surprised to see Palace do any work for Bonds going forward. Its a major hit for The Palace and another one in a long row of disappointments since the return of Mark. And as for PacBrands - decide who you want to partner with and make that work like it did for you with The Palace for many years - the back and forth project pitching (if that is what it is) is childish nonsense, expensive and yields no good results long term.
RIP Bonds. changing creative agency will not help the state of your shareprice!
8:33 - Now Agencies know how it feels for production, post production and sound companies. That does the industry no favours either, but it hasn't stopped the agencies from expecting it. Suffer in your jocks!
And the point of the roster was? Can't recall banjo on it.
didnt Bonds just do a clean out of their marketing department too? nteresting times at Pac Brands..
No suprise, Palace is controlled by someone who failed there previously, has lost a bus load of talented people including a top strategy person and the MD who apparently had a good relationship with Bonds, is now being sued and last week the Head of WPP was quoted as saying TCP is an embarrasment - wtf. No wonder Bonds went to pitch - you don't want to be with an agency that is in constant turmoil. Add in the fact that the last campaign of RT was a train smash...it's amazing that they didn't take action earleir. Being on the roster does not mean shit if you don't get allocated work, if Clems hit it out of the park, palace won't get another look in.
Well said PITCH GUN
Take a bow Bonds. After all the good work TCP has done for you, they deserve not to be trashed for their service over the years. By saying that they remain on the roster and still maintain a good relationship is very classy.Everyone knows that they are all but dead - no need to put the boot in. Good win for Clems - well done.
Sorry. I was an only child and sometimes getting enough attention to fill the needy hole in my heart is virtually impossible. I'm afraid I said things I didn't know anything about to try and escalate my self-importance. Woops.
What the flying fuck are you on about?
Every agency in the world has to pitch for accounts and pitch against other agencies for projects on rosters, and has done so since day one.
Bummer ....guess the urgency to get out and get another job, just got a whole lot more urgent. Amazing that the fair weather captain is still here in charge of the ship. SOS....come on rusty do the right thing, enough is enough - time for captain to go!
Firstly the headline: Bonds dumps Palace... why dumps? Surely split, changed or moved would have been a better choice of words. Although CB is not known for that.
After viewing 'feel the colour' I was reminded of the legendary spinal tap album 'smell the glove'. Both failed to reach their target. Rachael Taylor looks kinda short and stocky. How about Elyse Taylor? Now there's a looker. and she's an Aussie. Wow! Yes, it is sad to think that this is the same agency that produced 'One day you're gonna get caught with your pants down' for PacBrands Holeproof and Antz Pantz for the same client. Although it only proves that an agency's greatest asset is its people, and sadly for TCP those people are now at Whybin/TBWA, JWT and elsewhere.
