I knew this spot was going to disappoint me the moment I saw the thumbnail image of the little girl peering into the washing machine, with the word ‘love’ in scripted fabric font sitting beside her. I mean, really?

Oh dear.

This comes out just 24 hours after DDB's similar 'first person perspective' VW ad.

Which is far, far, far better.

Looks like it POV ads are the way forward...

If you remove the text, it's a good spot.

This spot ran a while back didn't it? Which makes DDB's ad a follower?

@Ad man

I agree, abit overcrafted there,
breaks away from the immersion.

better left off

I like it. It's a better POV than VW, which feels like it's vaguely POV.

It's a beautiful spot, nicely told and shot. Quite lovely!

Beautifully shot! Good work Clems

great to see a female creative team - not many of them about!

@ Huffy
I saw it weeks ago on air cos I remember liking the music score. Definitely made me pay attention to it which as a male I probably wouldn't for a standard whitegoods spot. It's good at evoking emotion which is a good step towards connecting with the consumer. Thumbs up from me.

Good Script with some polished direction and some nice visuals. Pretty good for a new young unsigned director. Well done guys

Tom M's Pillow said:

Are all you guys commenting from, like, Hillsong?

It's now a bit hard to work out which posts are from Clems or, indeed, the 'new young unsigned director.'

Tom Noakes is a talented motherfucker. I worked with him on a job and I'll be knocking on his door again. Use him now before he becomes too expensive.

Muffy said:

@ Huffy: I saw it on air too.

@ Clems: Good job guys. Don't let the haters get to you.

I like it.

Beautiful spot, engaging, emotional. But why is it unique to F&P? Could be for Westinghouse, LG, Samsung etc. Without a brand story its just a nice piece of film.

love this spot. I don't care if people think that it vaguely reminds them of VW tvcs, or its been done before - i love the casting, the ways it's been shot and the beautiful sentiment. I like that the product is shown in a relevant way without it being shoved down my throat. i dont work at Clems, so this is my way of patting them on the back.

Has anybody noticed Fisher paykel and paypal use exactly the same typography?

Who came first with it? When I first arrived in Australia I said 'look at those cheeky bastards ripping off paypal' the missus then turned round as she does 'naaahh they've been going heaps long'. I now know she meant the company has been set up for a long time, but at the time I wasn't familier with the term 'heaps long.'
