Since the launch of Roamz version 2.0 in March 2012, Roamz has been downloaded by over 110,000 users, who are using the app to uncover intelligently curated places and events happening around them.  Roamz cleverly cuts through the clutter of social media content to give users information that is specifically tailored to their interests by leveraging their profiles on Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and Instagram.

Barouch, the 29-year-old brainchild behind the innovative app, says Roamz heralds a new era in online commerce which recognises the value of social data generated from smartphones.

Says Barouch: “Roamz is a pioneer in the wave of next-generation businesses that are built on the strength of online communities who are actively sharing and consuming information. Today, if people walk into a new cafe they like, chances are they’ll check in on Foursquare, update their Twitter profile and post a photo on Instagram – and brands are recognising this customer data as a valuable commodity.”

“Our goal for Roamz this year is to reach the one million user milestone, as well as to begin monetising the platform.  As we continue to grow our Roamz community, we will undoubtedly have a very interesting platform for brands who are looking to engage with people on a granular level,” he added.

This latest accolade is a testament to Barouch’s ability to identify emerging trends online as well as the support Roamz enjoys from other notable social media players. He was also named as a runner up in last week’s BRW Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
