The comedian and host of the highly acclaimed show which picks apart advertising at its seams will MC the Awards, which recognises SA’s creative communications industry’s best of the best.

Those still wanting to submit their work for consideration are also in luck with the closing date for award entries extended by a week to 5pm on Friday, May 4.

AADC co-president, Jim Robinson said the decision was made to grant extra time to take into account those getting their heads around the revamped awards system: “We changed it significantly this year and people need time to get used to it. We’re really pleased with the number and high calibre of entries received to date and can’t wait to get stuck into judging them.”

Robinson said securing Anderson as MC for the Awards was a coup and should provide a real buzz amongst the industry: “Wil has drawn a lot of attention to the advertising industry in recent years. Combined with the fact that he’s an entertainer and internationally renowned comedian he’ll bring a whole new dimension to the Awards night which is really exciting,” says Robinson.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the world-class work that our State’s talented creative industry has to offer.”

Work published for the first time between 1 January 2011 and 31 March 2012 will be eligible to enter any of the following 11 award categories:

•    Film Craft •    Sound Craft •    Moving Images •    Radio •    Print • Press

•    Out of home •    Digital •    Direct •    Activations (new) •    Big Idea (new)

The AADC Annual Awards will be held at the Adelaide Festival Centre on Friday, 27 July 2012 and AADC invites marketers, PR practitioners and university and TAFE students to attend.
