Campaign Brief 8.pngKit Lansdell has joined Clemenger BBDO Sydney as planning director.

Reporting to executive planning director Al Crawford, he joins a team of 10 planners now working at the agency.

“Kit’s got a brilliant mix of the exuberance and inspiration of youth combined with the wisdom and broader perspective of experience,” says Crawford. “We’re exceptionally lucky to have him and I know he’ll have an amazing effect on culture, creative product and our overall planning capabilities.”

Lansdell brings a breadth of experience both in Australia and the UK. Having started his advertising career in the UK as an account manager at Grey London, he went on to work at Partners BDDH and Leagas Delaney before relocating to Australia in 2001.

He joined Lowe Hunt Sydney as a board account director and worked there until 2007. He has also run his own strategic brand consultancy, was co-founder of the Pollination Project with former Lowe Hunt ECD, Adam Lance, and spent two years with Accenture.

He has worked internationally with brands including adidas, BBC and the United Nations, while in Australia he led campaigns to launch the Hyundai A-League, introduce HSBC’s ‘The World’s Local Bank’, relaunch Electrolux and help people ‘Experiment a little’ with Diet Coke.

Lansdell says that as a fellow London escapee, he’s delighted to be joining Crawford, head of planning Matt Walters and the team.

Says Lansdell: “It’s great to know that the agency’s creative ambitions are matched by the warmth of their welcome for a mildly greying Pom.”
