Frucor Beverages' V Energy Drink kicks off 'The V Motion Project' via Colenso BBDO, Auckland

Vmotion.jpgUPDATED TO INCLUDE THE VIDEO OF THE FULL TRACK

Colenso BBDO, Auckland has created The V Motion Project, a new campaign for Frucor Beverages' V Energy Drink.

By hacking Kinect motion tracking software and combining it with audio production software they created The V Motion Project, a tool that could transform the body's movements into music.

Colenso BBDO and Frucor kicked off The V Motion Project back in May. The project has resulted in a series of webisodes, a song on iTunes, a music video (soon to launch) and TVC's that all demonstrate the 'V' Brands core value - that with enough energy you can do extraordinary things.

Says Luke Rive, Marketing Manager Energy, Frucor Beverages: "We are constantly looking for new and interesting ways to engage with consumers and love taking on the challenge of coming up with something unique and unexpected. With the help of Colenso 'The Motion Project' has certainly done that. The feedback to date on the webisodes has been fantastic and we are looking forward to seeing the consumer response as we put the final pieces of the puzzle together with the launch of the TVC and music video."

When are Colenso going to do a big grown up brand idea?

Every thing is little bits and pieces, one off ideas that don't ladder up to anything great.

I know they win a lot of awards but if you examine each piece it is lonely.

Write a big brand idea and become a big agency please like your cousins in Melbourne can do.

My two cents.

Nice to see the creatives trawling youtube and tech sites for ideas to steal. Nothing new here. Do some real ideas, folks. And I'm glad you left out the bit about "many sleepless nights and sh*tloads of V were needed to create this" bit from Ad Media. I'd say it took a couple of phone calls to gain permission to use the technology and a half decent production company. The creatives and suits were home in time for Shortland Street.

Tim Gruchy, when with vision45 in the early 90s used to do this very thing on stage live. Nice to know aussies were doing this long before gen-youtube came on board... and before the tech was commonplace in every kids lounge room. Just a casual observation, nothing more.
