Ad agencies reminded of new TCP Code for AFL and NRL finals season - comes into effect Sept 1
The new TCP Code applies to residential and small business consumers and regulates a range of matters relating to their relationship with their telecoms supplier.
The new TCP Code requires telecoms suppliers to include any important
conditions, limitations, qualifications or restrictions in its product
advertisements.
This includes ceasing the use of the term 'cap' and equivalent terms to advertise new offers unless the offer contains a 'hard cap'. Advertisers will need to take care in the use of terms such as 'free', 'unlimited', 'no exceptions', 'no exclusions', 'no catches' to ensure the provider complies with the new rules.
Claims in advertising about broadband speed, network coverage and other performance characteristics of telecoms products may also need to be substantiated to the ACMA.
If a provider fails to satisfy the new rules, the ACMA will consider taking enforcement action That action may involve giving a formal warning to the provider or issuing a direction to comply with the Code.

So no 'off the cuff comments' by the commentary team purporting to be their own, but actually scripted by Channel 9? And what about the seamless integration of spot betting, constantly updated odds etc as if gambling is a totally normal part of sport?
Way to make my job harder assholes.
