The integrated campaign stars over 70 Cancer Council volunteers and
supporters who all generously gave their time to take part in the
campaign. Airing from Sunday 26th August in Sydney metro and regional
NSW, the advertisements will feature across TV, cinema, outdoor and
online.
The concept has been inspired from the successful Cancer Research UK campaign.
Says Paul Fishlock, founder of Behaviour Change Partners: "The idea behind the campaign is that everyone can do something every day to help beat cancer, whether it's making a donation or making sure your kids wear sunscreen.
"Cancer directly and indirectly affects just about all of us and in the development and production of the campaign we had the privilege of meeting some remarkable people with some truly inspiring stories."
Cancer Council NSW's website showcases the TV ads along with seven personal stories from cancer survivors, carers, patients and family members all touched by cancer. The site also encourages social interaction with a Timeline tool to help spread the "What will you do today to help beat cancer?" message across social media platforms.
Says Sarah McCarthy, manager of brand, marketing and communications for Cancer Council NSW: "This campaign will be invaluable to us. We can't beat cancer alone. We are making great progress in the fight against cancer but there is still a lot of important work to do in the community, and the messaging really sums up this united effort.
"What we loved so much about this concept is that we know everyone can do something every day to help beat cancer. One day it might be a big thing like joining a research study or making a bequest in your will and other days it could be something as small as wearing a hat or supporting a fundraiser.
"Highlighting the help and services that Cancer Council NSW offers will help us one day achieve our mission of seeing cancer defeated."
