George Patterson Y&R leads the agency pack at shortlist stage of 2012 Caxton Awards

Thumbnail image for Piark1.jpgA total of 57 finalists have been selected for this year's Caxton Awards across 20 categories showcasing the finest creativity in newspaper advertising across print, online, mobile and tablet platforms.

In what was a competitive Caxtons year - and one with a strong showing from both sides of the Tasman - 19 agencies scored finalists.
George Patterson Y&R leads the trans-Tasman agency pack with eight finalists, followed closely by Colenso BBDO,Auckland and Whybin/TBWA with seven finalists apiece, and New Zealand's Special Group with six finalists.

This year's Caxton Awards include two new categories, mobile and tablet and technical innovation, with GPY&R a finalist in both.

Visitors to the Caxton page can watch the Enter The Caxton Nollywood movie trailer, which was launched earlier this week ahead of the movie's premiere at this year's Caxtons.

The 2012 Caxton Seminar and Awards will be held from Friday to Sunday, October 12th to 14th, at Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.

International keynote speakers Jeff Goodby, Derek Robson and Lee Clow will headline the annual Caxton seminar, while Caxton winners will be announced at the Awards Night ceremony on Saturday October 13th.

Didn't Charlie Cook originally come up with the VW parking campaign as part of a pro-active brief? I think so.
