217814_346021085486750_2012409583_n.jpgEntries have been flowing in from creatives across Australia for Cutting Edge’s ‘Make Me Appy’ competition, which closes this Friday August 31st at 23:55 (AEST). From gourmet enthusiasts to innovative medical solutions, from innovative educational games to new social platforms, the full spectrum of App genres have been covered.

Individuals from most major ad agencies are among the contenders in the running, along with entrants from production houses, design shops and marketing departments.

‘Make Me Appy’ is a rare opportunity to get an app idea brought to life, as the winning submission will be produced by Cutting Edge’s digital team, up to the value of $20,000. The prize includes design and development, right through to getting the App launched on App store.  Entries will be judged by Dave Bullard, editor-in-chief of Macworld Australia, and will be assessed on their creativity, originality, commercial viability and adherence to budget.

Hot on the heels of Cutting Edge’s nomination for the 2012 Mumbrella Awards for Encore Production House of the Year, the competition has provided an energetic platform for triggering conversation across the design, advertising, production and marketing industry.

Says Michael Burton, Cutting Edge CEO: “In our 20th year, and in a rapidly changing landscape, Cutting Edge is proud to have created a competition that has clearly captured the imagination of the creative community. We can’t wait to unveil the winner shortly.”
