So...not a good idea.

I guess it will be ok to throw Coles fresh Australian grown fruit and vegetables at the band.

It would be worth the ticket.

You can't argue with success. I think this campaign should be given a big hand.

Great to see SQ still have a day job.

However, in the versions I've seen of this commercial, there's no clue at all that it was shot in the legendary Abbey Road studios.

Coles/Ted Horton, how about airing a Director's Cut, with the band emerging from their limo, entering the studio, tuning up, passing around a toke, etc...

They play this dirge every fifteen minutes in the Coles I have the misfortune of being too lazy to avoid. Hand on heart, I have no-one to blame but myself.

...and I wonder how much $$$ exactly it took Coles to convince these guys to bastardise one of their own standards (I think it was their only UK No 1 single?).

The Quo aren't exactly completely washed up - as recently as last year, they could still fill O2 Arena in London. So it must have been a pretty tidy sum.

@ wishing, that's not so far-fetched, you know. The Coles version of the song is actually going to be on their next studio album:

Abandon hope, all ye who have ears.

An advertising crime against humanity.

I'd rather ingest human faeces than see that.

Noone in the UK has the foggiest what's going on down here, nor do they care. The Quo will come out of this no more blemished than they were before, but a fair bit richer.... I would

They're not doing a gig April 1. I think that's a perfect date for these clowns.

Hypothetical. If Droga 5 got Status Quo to release a song for the UN, is that 'good'. Or if Big Red got Beyonce to release a song for Coles, would that be 'bad'? Is it the artist, agency or client under scrutiny here?
