Animation production company Anifex accepted into Austin Film Festival for writer/director Michael Cusack's short animation 'Slight of Hand'

directorstill.jpgThe prestigious Austin Film Festival has just officially announced that Anifex's short, stop motion animation film "Sleight of Hand" has been accepted into official competition. This is a major coup for the animation company and writer/director Michael Cusack (left), as the Austin FF is an Academy Award accredited festival.

Says Cusack: "It's really exciting to be included in this festival as it showcases some of the world's best films so I am very honoured indeed to be a part of it. We have also had enquiries from a number of other festivals wanting to see the film for consideration, which is very gratifying. The film is very personal to me, exploring themes of free will and destiny so it is very rewarding that it seems to resonate with others too."
SOH_001.jpgThe short film has just begun its Festivals run and Austin was one of the first festivals that Sleight of Hand was entered into. This news comes hard on the heels that the film has been nominated for an AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) and the company is very hopeful for SoH_002.jpgfuture festivals.
