Australian edition of Portable's Curators Conference to be held in Melbourne Tues Oct 2

This one day event will be presented as an intimate and open conversation featuring pioneering Australian and international influencers from across film, fashion, design, publishing and more.

Two new speakers have been added to the list including Pip Jamieson, co-founder of the Loop as well as Simon Westcott, co-founder and managing director at Mr & Mrs Smith.

Westcott is one of the go-to specialists for the best in food, travel and experience. As the co-founder and managing director of luxury hotel collection Mr & Mrs Smith, he would want to be. Born in London and based in Melbourne, educated at Oxford and in the USA, Westcott is a man of the world.

Prior to being at Mr & Mrs Smith, Westcott was a global publisher and director of the Lonely Planet group. During his time there, Westcott relaunched and expanded the world's most successful guidebook publishing company, steering an increase in profitability and being pivotal in taking the business online. With travel in his blood, Westcott is also heavily committed to the arts. He is chair of Malthouse Theatre in Melbourne and sits on the board of Castlemaine State Festival, while being a past boardmember of contemporary dance company, Chunky Move.

Westcott also finds the time to be a regular contributor to online and print travel media including Travel + Leisure, The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. Westcott's expertise sits in strategy, product development, marketing, PR, editorial and writing.

Jamieson isn't one to shy away from a challenge. In the thick of the GFC she co-founded The Loop with her business partner Matt Fayle and, long story short, hasn't looked back. Jamieson understands how much a well crafted portfolio is imperative for creatives.

The Loop is the leading career network for creative talent; assisting to connect creatives with opportunities. With a background that extends from a first class economics degree, heading up marketing for MTV Networks in New Zealand, overseeing strategy and development for MTV in Australia and working for the British Government, Jamieson has overseen the growth and success of The Loop since it's launch in 2009. In upcoming months, Jamieson will be launching The Loop in the UK.
