Tourism Fiji appoints Sydney-based Circul8 to handle its global social media program
Sydney-based Circul8 will be responsible for social strategy and campaign activities, as well as ongoing community management, for the Tourism Fiji brand across the world. The agency will work closely with Tourism Fiji's other partner agencies, including Colenso BBDO, digital agency Sparks Interactive, NZ PR agency, Mango Communications, Sydney-based PR agency Verve Communications and Ogilvy PR in Los Angeles.
Says Michael Meade, acting chief executive officer of Tourism Fiji:
"Circul8 was selected based on highly competitive criteria following a
rigorous global tender process that saw agencies from the USA, UK,
Greater China and Australia pitch for the business. Circul8 demonstrated
a comprehensive knowledge of the expanding world of social media and
how they would apply this to our new brand which is being launched later
this year."
The appointment follows an extensive destination marketing audit completed in late 2011 that concluded there was a pressing need for a globally standardized Fiji brand that could be adopted and implemented in local markets.
Says Meade: "Circul8 will complement and strengthen Tourism Fiji's existing international brand-building campaign in the important area of social media to help develop and position Fiji's new brand meaningfully and effectively."
Circul8 has extensive experience in viral and social media marketing, having developed strategies and campaigns for The Woolmark Company, Greenpeace International, Cancer Council NSW, Papua New Guinea Tourism, Hawaii Tourism, Australian Conservation Foundation and more.
Says Alana Stocks, managing director: "The team at Tourism Fiji have shown great vision by making social media a core pillar of their global marketing strategy, and we're thrilled at the prospect of turning that vision into reality."
Circul8 commences work in October.
