Ad creative John Doorley puts it in writing with launch of new typeface 'Doorley Hand' via Wayne Thompson of The Australian Type Foundry

doorly hand postcard.jpgIt's not everyday that somebody creates and online launches a new typeface just like Messrs Helvetica, Franklin, Garamond and other typography designer stalwarts. Australian advertising creative and creatist John Doorley aka Madman has recently joined this elite creative company with the launch of Doorley Hand.
doorley.jpgDoorley Hand is described as a stylish, sexy and cool new font based on John Doorley's freestyle hand writing and perfected by Wayne Thompson of The Australian Type Foundry.

Doorley Hand is now doorley bold.jpgavailable via Myfonts.com in bold and light caps and upper and lower case.

Says Doorley: ''For many years people all over the planet have enjoyed and complimented my hand writing, so with Wayne Thompson's expert professional help I decided to put it out there.

"It's nice to know that my font can make a small contribution to help retain the fading arts of good hand writing, customised calligraphy and personalised communication either online or via snail mail. And it's satisfying to know that long after I'm gone my hand writing font will survive me and give people personalised organic creative communication pleasure with style. That's cool."

Says Thompson: ''Doorley Hand is a unique new font with characters and a personality that sits somewhere between charming child-like hand writing and classic contemporary calligraphy.''
