AWARD announces @radical.media MD Ian Fowler as its new committee member - Revolver's Michael Ritchie steps down after five years

Ian Fowler.jpgAWARD today announces the appointment of new committee member Ian Fowler (left). Fowler is MD @radical.media, and co-chair of the Communications Council's Commercial Producers Council group, and will be the bridging member between AWARD and CPC, ensuring dialogue and exploring fruitful cooperation between the two whilst AWARD champion and vice-chair Michael Ritchie steps down after five years.

Says Craig Davis, AWARD chair: "Not many people understand ideas, film, content and technology as thoroughly as Ian. It's another coup for AWARD that he's agreed to join the committee and we're excited to have someone of Ian's calibre joining."
MICHAEL-RITCHIE-NEW-WEB.jpgAs Fowler joins, AWARD is sad to say goodbye to long standing member Ritchie (left) from Revolver. Ritchie was closely involved in bringing AWARD under the Communications Council's umbrella, the formation of CPC and AWARD's recent initiatives, the 2010 AWARD call for entries campaign and the development of the Circus festival.

Says Davis: "AWARD works because people like Michael Ritchie dedicate themselves to it, inconvenience their family and friends, and invest energy they really can't spare. Michael has been central to AWARD's development over the last five years and done much more for the creative community than is right to expect, all because he loves great ideas and cares deeply about the industry he works in. He's also a great bloke and we're going to miss him."

Fowler joins the changing ranks of committee members including the recent appointment of Tom Uglow, Google, and current committee members chairman Craig Davis, Publicis Mojo, Chris Gillespie, Future Buro and Duncan Marshall, Droga 5, Mark Harricks, JWT, Adrian McNamara, formerly with EURO RSCG.

Championing new and original thinking in the Australasian region, AWARD seeks to work with world class talent to progress its agenda of raising the creative standards in the region. The committee works across five portfolios: the industry's yearly festival of Commercial Creativity 'Circus', AWARD Membership, Events, the annual AWARD Awards and the Education portfolio, currently operating under AWARD School head Adrian McNamara.

The agenda for 2012/2013 includes AWARD's pub night events with creative heavyweights, the Circus festival of Commercial Creativity, and the soon to be released AWARD annual.
