In addition, three silver and two bronze awards were presented to Australian agencies; iris Sydney, BD Network, URBAN, One Green Bean, and Evocatif.

Leo Burnett Sydney took out a GLOBE for its Bundaberg 'Watermark' campaign, for client Diageo, which saw the launch of the 'Watermark limited edition Bundaberg rum paying tribute and donating profits to Queensland towns hit by the 2011 flood disaster.
Leo Burnett Melbourne took out a GLOBE for its BYO cup day for Seven Eleven, which saw the creation of the BYO cup day, encouraging Slurpee fans to get into the store to top up on the drink in their BYO cups.

In addition, Integer Australia took out a GLOBE for Mars Petcare, for its Pedigree Adoption Drive campaign, Australia's single most successful dog rehoming campaign to date.

BD network, URBAN and One Green Bean took out silver and while Evocatif and Iris Sydney scored bronze.

Says David Lo, chairman of APMA, a subsidiary of the Communications Council: "The MAA Globes are a great way to measure how Australian clients and agencies do on the world stage and it's fair to say they've done exceptionally well. Especially in light of the stiff competition from US agencies this year, our region has performed well with a total of three GLOBES."

Including the Best of the Best GLOBE Award, 72 Awards - GLOBE, Silver and Bronze - were awarded in 25 Categories and announced at the 27th annual MAA GLOBE Awards during the MAA Worldwide Conference at the Park Hyatt, Chicago. Over 130 judges from 15 countries, representing agencies, clients, academia, media and industry associations carefully reviewed over 300 campaigns from 25 countries. The award format was changed slightly this year with a number of updated and expanded categories.

Says Kathryn Williams, one of the judges from Australia: "The entries are world class. My categories were perfect, and I found the calibre of work to be exceptional - in times where our marketing budgets seem to be drying up, creativity shines."

Digitas (US) with their campaign "Small Business Saturday" for American Express, was the big winner in the 27th MAA Worldwide GLOBE Awards.
