Wallrock has been promoted to the role of project director, and will be responsible for overseeing major client projects as well as the day-to-day management of the digital team. She joined MercerBell in 2007, originally as an account manager before pursuing her passion for digital production.

Portelli has joined the team as executive producer, taking responsibility for all digital production through the agency and working directly with clients to help optimise the digital product. He moves from JWT Sydney, and was previously at Whybin/TBWA/Tequila. He is driven by new technologies and trends, and how they can be best applied to brand marketing.

Sarno arrives from DDB Brazil as digital art director. DDB Brazil has been Cannes Agency of the Year winner four times and has accumulated over 100 Cannes Lions. Previous to this experience, Sarno graduated in Social Communications and Advertising as “Best Art Director.”

Nick Mercer, CEO at MercerBell said the new appointments were due to significant growth in the demand for digital work from clients.

Says Mercer: “These roles and the new structure of our digital department will ensure we continue to uncover, master and apply the right digital solutions that bring our clients’ customers closer to their brands and their business.

“The sheer volume of options available to marketers means they are increasingly reliant on digital specialists to sift and sort the ones that work their socks off from the ones that are a flash in the pan. We are growing a team of passionate specialists who understand the marketing applications of emerging technologies and our clients want more of that.”

The new roles will report to MercerBell digital director, Micah Howard and digital creative director, Carmela Netto Soares.
