NMIT to hold Super Thursday information series for its Screen and Media program in Collingwood
As part of the NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) Super Thursday information series, NMIT's Screen and Media (TV Production) program will be opening its studio doors to television industry hopefuls during three information sessions in October and November. Says Nick Lovett, NMIT Screen and Media Program coordinator: "We welcome anyone interested in working in the TV industry. It's a great opportunity to view the cutting-edge facilities on offer here at NMIT, see our current students in action or talk to our staff, who have years of experience in this industry.

The Super Thursday info sessions will include a tour of the production facilities at NMIT's Collingwood campus, provide details on course costs, content, showcase current student's work and also offer advice on the interview process for entry into NMIT courses.
NMIT offers the Certificate IV in Screen and Media and the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media as full-time study, while the Diploma of Screen and Media is available via part-time study and is taught in the evenings.
The courses are ideal for people looking to develop or enhance existing skills in TV and video production and anyone contemplating a career in camera operation, lighting, sound, editing, directing or studio production management.
Students work in state-of-the-art High Definition broadcast quality production studios and the course operates with video production equipment used commonly in the industry, including non-linear editing on AVID Media Composer and Final Cut Pro.
Ongoing production partnerships with television industry cohorts such as McGuire Media and cable broadcaster Foxtel provide students with the opportunity to gain real industry experience and graduate with genuine production credits on their CV.
Several current student productions are being broadcast by community broadcaster Channel 31 including Mash Up, The V&S Show and Melbourne 22.
