Organic yoghurt makers five:am launches iPhone app to connect with target audience via Taboo

5amness.jpgAward winning organic yoghurt five:am has launched a new iPhone app celebrating the 'five:am moment' via The Taboo Group.

The five:am moment app is designed to drive positive brand association through original content
that allows interaction and conversation with five:am's target audience. The app successfully promotes five:am's positive message of taking time out from your busy schedule, even for a minute, to realise the benefits a moment of clarity can provide you.

GET THE APP
Says David Prior, founder and owner of five:am: "I started five:am with the concept of 'conscious deliciousness', bringing mindfulness to every aspect of our business. I'm excited that through this app fans of five:am can share in the benefits of being mindful and living consciously."

Usually a source of distraction and sometimes stress, your phone now acts as a mediator. Select from Guided Meditations, Natural Sounds or 'Nothingness' to take some time away from distractions, relax and motivate the rest of their day. The Guided Meditations have been recorded by James Bahuth of Yogaha and are unique to five:am.

No need to wake before dawn, the app features a reminder set up to schedule five:am moments ahead of time; users will be immersed in five:amness when it suits them.

A recent report revealed that Android’s marketshare has grown on a year-on-year basis from 32.2% in 2011 to 52% in 2012, while the marketshare for Apple iOS has fallen from 35.6% to 35.3%.

Why would you alienate your brand from 52% of smartphone users by not creating an Android version too?

Tony, that doesn't account for the existing devices already in the market. Apple dominated until only the last couple of years & Android devices haven't quite caught up.

For example on the site I manage (approx 1m UVs/month), iPhone visits account for over 60% of mobile traffic compared to ~20% Android - despite Android devices far outselling iPhones*

* I'd be interested to see what effect the iPhone 5 has on this, though.
