Simplot's John West releases full 90sec 'Be Your Best' TVC and campaign via BWM Melbourne
John West's latest campaign builds on the 'John West, The Best' equity. The multi channel approach tells a modern day sequel to the famous bear vs. fisherman story and invites consumers to participate in an epic, ongoing adventure.

unreal super treatment dave.
well done.
be your best.
Great work Abby and team at BWM.
Good comedy, but unfortunately bad marketing at play here. I'm really not sure at all why John West lets me 'Be at my best'.? Any message and product take out is completely lost or left unsaid, which is too bad because 80% of the ad works well.
Essentially it is the same idea as the old campaign.
Just more bang and whizz.
John West wanted to spend some money and BWM production just wanted to make money.
Great production should have a point to it. This doesn't.
You're never going to improve on the original, so why even try? Seems like John West can't get over the 'bear ad' - time to change the record folks. If you're going to insist on nodding to the classic, then use the original line 'we go through the worst, to bring you the best' - there must be loads of other places you can go with that territory that don't involve a fisherman and a bear.
So now we've got the old bear idea which worked fine jammed into a whole new construct where we get to show the target market and get across a brand new strategy. I can just imagine all the the talk about holding onto old "memory structures".
I can feel the cold, clammy hand of marketing trying to fondle my brain and I don't like it.
Exit stage left, pursued by a Bear. Yet Shakespeare, it aint.
Thanks Dog, you said it al!
So shit.
John West is the best... They've made great spots.
WTF is THIS ? ?
Sequels do usually suck.
And this is a 'Blues Brothers 2000', not an 'Empire Strikes Back'
Where has the beautifully simple humour gone ? Big budgets shouldnt compensate for a below average idea. Shame
This is a waste of time, opportunity and money.
Unfunny and over-produced.
Apparently the agency/client relationship is fantastic though.
Yawn.
