Imagination Australia appoints ex-ABT owner/CEO Antony Gowthorp in MD role

Anthony_Gowthorp_BW1.jpgEvents and corporate communication stalwart Antony Gowthorp (left) has joined global creative agency Imagination as managing director in Sydney. In his new role Gowthorp will manage Australian operations and sit on the board governing the Asia-Pacific region.

As a former owner and CEO of Australian Business Theatre (ABT) and more recently CEO of the Enero owned Precinct, Gowthorp brings exemplary credentials to the Australian business.

His skills span business and account management, covering the communications spectrum from corporate events, business development and creative strategy, through to environments; digital; brand and internal communications. Gowthorp brings over 10 years agency management experience to Imagination. As an agency leader he has successfully led new business and client service teams across clients such as AMP; Telstra; Samsung; Vodafone; Honda; Holden; BMW; Coca-Cola; CBA; IBM; Optus and Brookfield.

Says Gowthorp: “The Imagination brand has been an industry benchmark my entire career. I’m excited about leading a great local Australian team and having the opportunity to share my regional experience across offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Mumbai, Bangalore, Singapore and Tokyo.

Gowthorp will report to Hong Kong-based Mark Barrett, CEO Asia Pacific.
