photo.jpgSydney brand and ideas agency, Frost*, is undergoing a management restructure which will see founder and CEO Vince Frost become executive creative director and the return of long time collaborator, Anthony Donovan, who has been newly appointed to take on the creative director role.

Donovan, who was a design director at Frost* in both Sydney and London for six years, left the company in 2010 to take up a position at Moon. He returns as creative director at the internationally awarded design studio, in a shake up that means Frost himself will move out of a direct role as CD for the first time, to take on an executive and creative leadership function within the organisation.

Frost says that the new structure will allow him more time to invest in client relationships and growing client’s businesses, whilst still keeping a steady eye on the studio’s creative outputs.

Says Frost: “In my new role I will step up to become executive creative director and CEO, which will free me up to work more closely with our clients on their businesses, participating in talks and awards and generating more opportunities for Frost*.

“As executive creative director I will be working closely with Ant, supporting him and remaining active in the creative direction of the studio.”

Frost says he is thrilled that Donovan is returning to the fold, as the alumnus was the ideal candidate to fill his shoes as creative director. Throughout their six-year prior working relationship, the pair discovered a strong creative synergy that challenged each to produce some of their most dynamic work.

Says Frost: “Ant is a good mate and an incredibly passionate, talented CD. He shares the same passion for ‘big ideas’ and bringing them to life with the ‘craft’ of design, and he’ll be working across all creative in the studio.”

Donovan studied graphic design at Newcastle University before landing a job as art director at Black + White straight out of university, a seminal 90s photography magazine which spawned the careers of several leading Sydney creatives. Donovan has also won numerous prestigious local and international awards, including D&AD, One Show, SPD, AGDA, Tokyo Type Directors, Graphis Communication Arts and Australian Creative awards for project including Central Park, State Library of NSW, D&AD Ampersand, POL Oxygen, FUTU Magazine, Sydney Airport, Sydney Dance Company, Zembla and NT via Frost*.

Says Donovan: “I’m very excited to be rejoining Frost*. After six years with the company, it was time for me to stretch my creative muscle elsewhere. But Vince has created a unique, leading role for me in one of the world’s best and most recognised creative studios. The opportunity to work with Frost* again, in this capacity, is one that I couldn’t pass up. It feels like I’m coming home.”

Donovan starts with Frost* today.
