'The Year of Yes' campaign, via The Monkeys, Sydney, has launched with a TVC featuring Humphrey the positive pug.  Focusing on IKEA storage ranges, Humphrey shows us how a positive outlook and willingness to make small changes can bring about a better everyday life at home.

"'The Year of Yes' is about taking action and fulfilling those projects around your home that you start the year hoping to do", said Rebecca Darley, Ikea Country Marketing Manager.

"Ikea aims to inspire and encourage our customers to keep an open mind, try new things in their home and make this the year they turn their goals and aspirations into reality. Whether it's a complete home refurbishment, or smaller updates around your home, IKEA has a vast offering of affordable and stylish products allowing customers to easily make changes so they can make the most of life at home this year".

Over the heads and 'too clever by half' for the target market. Creative for creative ego sake.

Cute.
Not mind blowing.
I'd like to see an ad ONE day that didn't feature a token pug.
It just feels so done everytime I see an ad with one.

What about a Saint Bernard? Lets get that massive thing on the couch between.
Awkward.
Funny. I'd watch it.

The year of the yes, is a compelling thought, but hard to execute, could very easily move towards cheese. I think this is why this commercial has a cool execution. It certainly isn't cheesy, however it's a bit flat and uninspiring as a result - unfortunately. It's also reminiscent of the Churchil ads from the UK, but Vic Reeves gave the nodding dog in this commercial a hilarious tone of voice.
