Yellow Pages Mobile makes people ‘tick’ in spot for app launch via Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and Yellow Pages have launched a new campaign and a new tagline demonstrating the benefits of its updated mobile app.
Yellow Pages has a long history of using comical situations to highlight urgent business needs, where using Yellow Pages often literally saves the day.
But what about the everyday moments? That ever-changing list of things you need to get done, that you carry around in your brain all the time? Wouldn’t you love to get those little things ticked off your list?
That’s where the Yellow Pages mobile app comes in. The new campaign, called ‘Tick’, is the answer to that perpetual list.
Whether it’s fixing a broken gate, getting a haircut, or even summoning duelling banjos, with Yellow Pages you can tick the task off as done.
Geraldine Davys, Yellow Pages group manager brand and marketing and communications, says the campaign shows how people can solve problems – even when they’re out and about.
Says Davys: “The campaign encourages consumers to think about Yellow Pages when they’re looking for a solution to a problem but, more importantly, it highlights the different ways they can access Australia’s most comprehensive online business directory.
“It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is; or what device consumers are using, they can find the solution searching Yellow Pages.”
The new ‘Tick’ campaign is supported by nationwide outdoor, TV, cinema and digital.

Great work.
Tick.
Cool ad. But more importantly….
Dear Yellow,
http://www.google.com
Regards
Love it.
Snappy, I like it.
Nice one knickers.
Very, very, very good.
Looking forward to another good ad coming out of Clems. This isn’t it.
Remember when yellow pages ads were beautifully crafted simple/funny/charming/memorable gems?
I’m sure everyone here is trying hard to do great work (and probably with more complex client expectations), and it certainly isn’t bad, but really this demos how far things have shifted if anyone gets too excited here.
Sorry to say it, not happy Jan.
Well done Nic & Nick. This is the best yellowpages has been in a long time.
“probably with more complex client expectations” I think all advertising would be better at communicating a clients product if the client would just BUT OUT!!!!!
You can just imagine the meetings.
“We need to provide an alternative to Google”
Tick.
“We need to show multi-platform use – smartphone and ipad”
Tick.
Etc, ad nauseum.
Why are agencies so beloved of casting people you recognise from other ads?
Slater & Gordon “And if there’s no win there’s no fee.”
Yes, him.
So you can’t find a decent hairdresser on yellow pages???? Style over substance. And heavily borrowed style at that.
Great work to all. Feels like a yellow pages ad.
Tick.
Can we stop doing these stylised ads featuring nerds please.
IT’S BEEN DONE TO FUCKING DEATH.
