PETER OGDEN DENTSU HEADSHOT.jpgDentsu Australia today announced it has appointed Peter Ogden to the newly-created role of creative director, effective immediately.

Ogden, who will work closely with Dentsu Australia executive creative director Mike Thomas, brings a formidable body of work to the agency following a career in which he has worked on some of the world’s leading brands.

Says John O’Connor, Dentsu Australia CEO: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Peter to the team and are looking forward to benefiting from his impressive experience.”

During his career, Ogden has worked at major agency networks in London and Sydney. In 2008, after 10 years at DDB Sydney, he moved even further down under to JWT New Zealand, where he became creative director.

On his return to Sydney in 2012, Odgen joined integrated agency Radar before moving onto his new role at Dentsu Australia.

Says Ogden: “This is probably the most exciting opportunity of my career – to be in on the ground floor of a major network start up. We’re small at the moment but it’s good to know we have the backing of a global network. And it’s great to be teamed up with Mike Thomas again.”

He has worked across many iconic brands including McDonald’s, Telstra, Lotto, Arnott’s, Gatorade, Audi, Dell, Wrigley’s, Unilever, Nokia, Pizza Hut, Volkswagen, Ford, Nestle and Kellogg’s.

As a creative, Ogden has won awards and been a finalist at D&AD, Cannes, One Show, Clio and AWARD. As a creative director, he helped JWT New Zealand win major awards at Cannes, Spikes Asia, AWARD and Clio.

O’Connor said that Ogden’s appointment was a direct reflection of the agency’s investment in talent and resources and that more announcements about the agency’s growth and development would be made soon.
