kendall_tony.jpgMatthew Stanton, CEO of Bauer Media, today announced the appointment of ex-News Limited director of sales Tony Kendall as director of sales for Bauer Media.

Kendall has spent 23 years in senior roles at News Limited in Melbourne, Sydney and New York, as well as a year as CEO of News Magazines.

Says Stanton: “Tony’s connections and understanding of the advertising and marketing industry in Australia are second to none. We are very pleased that Tony has accepted our offer to join Bauer Media at this important time for the business as we continue to develop and grow our magazine brands across multi-platforms.

“Tony has a wealth of experience and a great reputation within the industry as a person who provides innovative and quantitative solutions for clients, as well as having considerable knowledge of editorial people and processes, marketing and events, digital and social media strategies and innovation.”

Says Kendall: “I am delighted to be joining the Bauer Media Group as I have always enjoyed working for great brands and at Bauer Media the brands are without peer in Australia. Most importantly, Bauer’s brands have the greatest reach to, understanding of and connectivity with women, and indeed all Australians. I am very excited by the prospect of harnessing this reach and engagement, across multiple platforms, for the benefit of our advertisers.”

Kendall will work closely with Nine Entertainment Co. (NEC) group sales and marketing director Peter Wilshire to create, facilitate and oversee integrated advertising solutions with Powered unlocking NEC’s media platform.

Says Wiltshire: “We are pleased that Tony is joining the team and he will continue to work closely with the other sales directors across the group as Leigh Monti did so well. I would also like to thank Leigh for his tireless efforts over the last 12 months. He has done a terrific job in a very tough environment.”

Says Stanton: “I take this opportunity to thank Leigh Monti for his work as sales director, particularly during this time of transition from ACP Magazines to Bauer Media.

“Leigh has decided to move back to Melbourne to reside with his family and we are delighted he is staying with the company as sales director of the Bauer Trader Group, based in Melbourne.”

Kendall currently sits on the Board of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. He takes up his role at Bauer Media on March 11, 2013.
