Jamie Kwong.jpgHealthdirect Australia has appointed Sydney-based creative agency Workshop as its principal advertising agency after an in-depth tender process.

The collective trading name for the National Health Call Centre Network, Healthdirect Australia was established and is jointly funded by federal, state and territory governments. The services available through Healthdirect Australia provide nationwide access 24 hours a day, seven days a week to healthcare triage, health advice and health information without geographic restrictions.

A competitive tender was issued in August last year and with the finalisation of the selection process, Workshop has been awarded a long-term contract to handle the business. The agency is preparing to launch a communications program that includes strategy development, creative and multi-channel implementation to reach a national audience.

Says Michelle Wade, senior marketing manager for Healthdirect Australia: “The final submissions were of the highest quality. Workshop won because the agency demonstrated deep understanding of the challenges in connecting with our many and varied audiences, clear insights into how those challenges could be met and the creativity to bring those insights to life in multi-media.”

Says Jamie Kwong (pictured), Workshop principal: “The mission and quality of Healthdirect Australia’s work impacted on us from the outset. We recognised strong synergies in what the client team needed in their communications and what we as an agency would effectively deliver. We’re looking forward to building a strong and successful partnership together.”

Across the breadth of Healthdirect Australia’s portfolio, its services facilitate access to health information and advice. Services include mindhealthconnect, Pregnancy, Birth and Baby, healthdirect Australia and healthinsite, the after hours GP helpline and the National Health Services Directory.

Workshop’s strategy, creative and implementation plans for the forthcoming campaign for Healthdirect Australia will be supported by Workshop’s media agency partner Bohemia.
