Tapping into the Aussie fondness for understatement, JWT Sydney has launched a new campaign for Kellogg's Just Right, which is running on TV and online until May.
Although, we actually call those rocks "The Twelve Apostles" and make a big fuss about them in tourist brochures and the like.
Oh, and we usually refer to those animals as "bloody big", or "maneater" or "rogue croc".
Oh, and we call that bit of coral "The Great Barrier Reef."
But other than that, you guys have stumbled on a really big truth about Australians. Well done.

Clients get the work they deserve.
And This feels like a client idea.

This is what you get when you give planners too much rope, and let them spend weeks on the brief to come up with an 'insight' that gives the creative department nowhere to go, but to execute their lame idea.
This whole understatement thing reeks of planner 'insight', is desperately try-hard and quite dispiriting really.
Just because the cereal category is rubbish, and the clients are attached to link testing like a scared toddler is attached to his mummy's side, and its almost impossible to get genuinely good work up, doesn't mean this kind of work should be lauded.
If we don't have standards, we have nothing.

Nicely made understated Aussie ad. No inane sports stars, no raucous VO, no tizzy product shots. just right.

Do Kellogg's have any inkling how universally reviled they are as a client. Their marketing dept needs a jolly good sweep out.

The line's good. Hard bastard to execute though.

Do most of you work at JWT? Especially you passerby. Wasn't Tall Jan a Just Right ad? It was fun. Why is the music track so lame?

Better music could have saved this.
