Qantas, Tourism Gold Coast + Gold Coast Airport launch a sandy aircraft to celebrate Qantas’ return to the GC – ends Fri, Feb 8 at Syd’s Circular Quay

Qantas_Wednesday_010.jpgQantas this week with the help of Tourism Gold Coast and Gold Coast Airport, has been building an aircraft out of sand to celebrate Qantas’ return to the Gold Coast showing until 7pm Friday, February 8th in front of Customs House, Circular Quay, Sydney.

Everyone is invited to come down and watch the artists bring the sculpture to life and have photos with the spectacular work of art.

Qantas_Wednesday_015.jpgThe life size sand sculpture incorporating the inside of a Qantas B737-800 is complete with a flight deck, six rows of seats, pilots and passengers. Visitors are also encouraged to spot sand sculptures of Channel Nine’s Steve Jacobs and Dame Edna.

Until 14 February Qantas is offering its Qantas_Wednesday_018.jpgFacebook fans the chance win flights to the Gold Coast. To enter, fans can upload a photo of themselves via the Qantas Facebook “head in the sand” application.
