Rebel puts a 3 code football dream team together in new TVC via BD Network and SceneOn

reb3.jpgThis week Australia’s leading sports retailer Rebel launched a new campaign, just in time for the football season via BD Network and produced by SceneOn.

Directed by Andrew Coyle and shot at Parramatta Stadium prior to Christmas, the stylish TVC features some of the biggest names in the NRL, AFL and A-League today.

In a world first, sporting manufacturers Nike, Adidas, Umbro and Asics allowed their product to be pictured together in the commercial. The mixed brands are worn by members of the elite Rebel “dream team” including Greg Inglis, Todd Carney, Ben Barba, Emile Heskey, Cyril Rioli and Lewis Jetta who play a hybrid game; a combination of three football codes.

Using their post production design team to execute and realize the energy of the script, SceneOn built a VFX stadium and hybrid goals – which allowed for extra visual control and stylised movement in post. The commercial was shot on the Alexa camera and a Photron camera was employed to capture slow-motion footage  – shooting at 2000 frames per second.

Says Coyle: “From the initial treatment to the VFX and online execution, this spot is a great working example of SceneOn’s ‘end to end’ approach. The team loved working on this project, and we couldn’t be happier that BD’s creative team chose SceneOn – it’s the beginning of great creative relationship.”
